Your full wedding film is worth the wait, and it will still be the thing you watch on anniversaries. But you will watch it on a sofa, months later, just the two of you.
A same-day edit is different. It plays to the whole room while your grandmother is still there, while your friends are still in the same seats, while the day is still the biggest thing that has ever happened to you. People cry. People who have never cried at a wedding cry.
It is the only deliverable we make that your guests experience with you rather than see afterwards. That is the whole argument for it.
From ceremony to screen
We film as normal
Getting ready, ceremony, portraits. Nothing about your day changes and nothing is rushed for the edit.
Footage goes to the editor
Cards come off the cameras through the afternoon and go straight to an editor working on site, usually in a quiet room at your venue.
The cut is built live
Ceremony audio, vows, the walk back down the aisle, portraits. Graded and scored while your reception is starting.
It plays before the night ends
Usually after dinner and before the dancing. We hand the file to your DJ or AV person, or run it ourselves.

What it needs from you
A video package. We cannot cut a film from photographs. Same-day edits are only available alongside video coverage.
A screen and sound at your venue. Most Auckland venues have a projector and a sound system, or the DJ does. Check with your venue early — a beautiful film played through a phone speaker is a waste of everyone’s night.
A room for the editor. Somewhere quiet with power. A back office, a spare room, a corner of the bridal suite. It does not need to be much.
A slot in the run sheet. Ten minutes, usually between dinner and dancing. We will help your MC or planner place it.
Who books this
Multi-day and cultural weddings, more than anything. When the celebration runs across several events, a film from day one playing at day two changes the whole energy of the room.
Weddings with guests who travelled a long way. If people have flown in, sending them home having already seen the film is a genuinely different experience.
And couples who simply want one enormous moment in the middle of their reception. It is reliably the loudest the room gets all night.
Before you ask
What does it cost?
It is priced with your video package rather than off a list, because it depends on the length of your day and how much coverage happens before the screening. Tell us your date and what you have booked and we will come back with a number.
Can I have a same-day edit without booking video?
No. There has to be footage to cut. If you have only booked photography and you want this, we would need to add video coverage to your day first — ask and we will price both together.
Does the reception make it into the film?
No, and it cannot. The edit is locked before your reception happens. Speeches, first dance and dancing all land in your full wedding film instead.
Does this delay my full film?
No. The same-day edit is cut from a selection of the footage and does not change the schedule for your main film or your photo gallery.
What if my venue has no projector?
Tell us early. Some venues hire one in, some DJs carry one, and in a few rooms it genuinely will not work. We would rather tell you that months out than on the night.
Can I choose the music?
Tell us what you have in mind and we will find something licensed that carries the same feeling. Everything we deliver is cleared, so nothing gets muted when you post it.
How does it work across a multi-day wedding?
Extremely well. We cut the first day and play it at the next event. It is the single best use of this service.
