The people who make
a Queenstown wedding work
Celebrants, flowers, hair and make-up, gowns and suits, cake. Names, prices and contact details.
Kia ora! Kamusta? Our location guide covers where you can stand and our venue guide covers where you can book. This one covers who — the suppliers a small Queenstown wedding actually needs, with real contact details and, where they publish them, real prices.
Everyone listed here has a working website and a published way to reach them, checked in September 2026. Where a business publishes prices we have quoted them; where they do not, we say so rather than guess. Nobody has paid to be here and we take no commission — this is simply who we would ring.
Prices move. Treat every figure here as a starting point for your own conversation, not a quote.
Celebrants

You cannot marry legally in New Zealand without one. Book the celebrant before the venue — the good ones go first, and a celebrant can usually tell you whether your idea is possible before you have paid anyone a deposit.
Queenstown, Arrowtown and Gibbston
| Celebrant | Where | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Sarah Noble | Gibbston | The most specific helicopter content of anyone in the district. Her elopements page names alpine lakes, waterfalls and remote valleys, and names the operators she has flown with. “Not stuffy, not traditional.” 027 563 4048 |
| Heidi Gillingham — A Day To Remember | Queenstown | The only celebrant in the district publishing a full price list, and it itemises helicopter and hiking ceremonies. Elopement $650, premium $800. Heli backup-date fee $100, hiking ceremonies $100/hr. 50km travel included. 17+ years local. 022 323 4094 |
| Nicolet Spice | Arrowtown | Says it outright: “I specialise in elopements, and heli-elopements.” Names Lochnagar, Coromandel Peak, a glacier wedding. Serves Arrowtown, Queenstown, Wānaka, Hāwea and Cromwell. $250 deposit; mileage over 25km. 021 999 473 |
| Vicki Robinson | Gibbston | Registered and local. Filed under Gibbston rather than Queenstown, which is why a Queenstown-only search misses her. 022 214 7624 |
| Andrew Bell | Queenstown | Names Coromandel Peak, Lake Alta and The Doolans. Travels Queenstown, Wānaka and all of New Zealand. Explicit equality page. 027 823 6110 |
| Emily O’Leary | Arrowtown | Has a dedicated adventure page — hike, heli, paddle or bike to your spot — and describes officiating on a rocky outcrop after a 45-minute walk in. Officiates anywhere in NZ. 021 816 247 |
Wānaka and Hāwea
| Celebrant | Where | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Fiona Mangos — Wed By Fi | Wānaka | The most complete published pricing of any celebrant in either district, and the elopement package builds in flexible timing for helicopters. Weddings and elopements $1,000; “Tied In Ten” $600 weekday, under 6 guests. 25km included, Queenstown +$200, Tekapo/Mt Cook +$500. 027 296 9840 |
| Siobhain Hooper | Wānaka | Calls herself an elopement celebrant and works in alpine and helicopter settings. Also works as an MC. Venues she knows well: Glendhu Station, Rippon Hall, The Winehouse. 027 972 7766 |
| Kirsty Ussher | Albert Town | The most active web presence in Wānaka and writes directly to eloping couples. Styled shoots at Mt Crichton. Also a planner and stylist, so she can do more than the ceremony if you want that. 021 190 1369 |
| Gwen Hendry | Wānaka | Clean and uncomplicated. Elopements listed as a service; travels throughout Queenstown and surrounds. 021 147 7380 |
Tekapo, Pūkaki and Aoraki / Mount Cook
There are very few celebrants in the Mackenzie. If you are marrying up here, book early or bring someone with you.
| Celebrant | Where | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Sophie Cartmer — High Country Hitched | Tekapo | One of only two celebrants in the entire Mackenzie district with a website. 027 234 9529 |
| Charlie Hobbs | Aoraki / Mount Cook | The only registered celebrant actually in Mount Cook village. If you want to marry at Aoraki, this is the person already there. 027 434 2277 |
| Holly Lane — The Mackenzie Celebrant | Fairlie | No website, but she has planted a flag on the whole district and there is very little competition. Worth a call. 027 741 8122 |
| Fiona Mangos | Travels from Wānaka | Publishes a fixed $500 travel rate to Tekapo and Mount Cook. A known quantity at a known cost beats an unknown local. 027 296 9840 |
Flowers
The useful thing to know about this market: nobody down here imposes a wedding minimum spend, and the Wānaka florists have turned the two-person order into an off-the-shelf product because of the helicopter proposal trade. You can buy a bouquet and a buttonhole online for a fixed price without a single email.
| Florist | Where | Bouquet + buttonhole |
|---|---|---|
| The Green Room Flower Company | Sir Tim Wallis Dr, Wānaka | $320 — elopement bouquet $290 plus buttonhole $30, both buyable online. 03 443 2324 |
| The Workroom | Wānaka | $350 fixed elopement package: one bouquet, matching buttonhole, hatbox and vase. Three palettes, 48 hours’ notice. 021 148 0487 |
| The Flower Room | Frankton, Queenstown | Bouquets $250–450, buttonholes $25–35, elopement packages $350–1,000. The Queenstown local, and the one to use when you need flowers the same morning. 027 229 3123 |
| Blooms of Barker | Wānaka | Pricing not published, but the widest delivery radius of anyone: Queenstown, Wānaka, Cromwell, Cardrona, Luggate, Hāwea, Clyde and Alexandra. 021 397 373 |
| The Vase Floral Co. | Queenstown | Specialises in intimate weddings and elopements. No published pricing; enquiry by phone. 022 647 6954 |
One timing catch. The two cheapest options are both Wānaka-based and reach Queenstown next-day, not same-day. For a Queenstown morning ceremony that means flowers arriving the day before — fine, as long as somebody has a fridge. If you need them the same morning, use The Flower Room.
Gowns and suits — hire, not buy

If you are flying in, hiring beats packing. A wedding dress does not travel well and a suit takes a bag you would rather use for boots. Queenstown has a proper hire market and it is set up for people who arrive days, not months, in advance.
Nemo Bridal & Omen Suit Hire — 3 Gray Street, Frankton
Two brands, one business, one address, two minutes from the airport. Nemo does gowns; Omen does menswear. They also do alterations, steaming, warm kit and on-the-day dressing, which makes them the only place in the district that can dress both halves of a couple from a single visit. Founded 2000. 03 441 4302
| What | Published price |
|---|---|
| Wedding dress hire, one day | $650 — includes a consultation, a fitting and a standard hem |
| Bridal skirt hire, one day | $450, same inclusions |
| Veil / belt / cape / underskirt / shoes | $70 / $50 / $50 / $60 / $25 |
| Fur hire | Vintage $95, faux $70 — priced as a weekend hire: pick-up day, wear day, drop-off day |
| Warm kit | Full kit $50–70, winter boots $20–25. Oversized hooded fur-lined jacket plus waterproof boots |
| Suit hire — full kit | $299 — jacket, trousers, waistcoat, shirt, shoes, tie and cufflinks. Two-piece $229, three-piece $249, jacket only $125 |
| Groups of four or more | $269 per person for the full kit |
| On-the-day dressing | From $285 — a stylist comes to you with a steamer and a stand-by kit |
| Steaming and pressing | From $60; a bridal gown from $95. Around the corner from the terminal, so you can go straight there off the plane |
| Showroom consultation | $100, credited against your final price if you go ahead |
Reserve the garment before you fly. Fit it when you land. They genuinely do arrival-week fittings — but only for something already being held for you. Hire gowns are one-offs and the rack clusters around NZ 10–12. Choosing is a months-ahead job; fitting is a 48-hour job. Grooms have it easier: Omen’s documented process is a measurement chart and an $80 deposit sent from home, then a fitting on arrival.
They are open weekdays. Monday to Friday, roughly 9 or 10 until 5. Saturday is by appointment only, Sunday closed. If you land Friday afternoon for a Saturday wedding you have about an hour of trading time — so confirm your slot before you book flights, not after.
Ring to confirm any price. Their own website disagrees with itself on suits, furs, warm kits and steaming. The figures above are what is published; the phone is what is true.
If Nemo cannot help
| Business | What they hire | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| FelixImage | Dresses and suits | The best-documented short-notice option after Nemo — explicitly serves couples arriving a day or two out, with same-day fittings. Hire $150–500, showroom consult $50 credited. Sizing NZ 6–12, a few to 14. |
| Mr Davis Menswear | Suits | The other physical Queenstown suit hire, about a kilometre from Nemo. Free fitting appointment, bookable online. Covers Queenstown and Wānaka. Prices not published. 03 927 4089 |
| Suitor | Suits, by courier | The genuine last-minute safety net: order by 4pm, suit arrives next day anywhere in New Zealand. From $149, with a $10 backup suit one size up — worth taking, since there is no fitting. |
| Structure for Men | Suits | The only suit hire in Wānaka. Also stocks shirts and dress trousers for last-minute guests. Prices not published. 03 443 5854 |
Would rather not ring six people yourself? That is exactly what our all-inclusive elopement tiers are for — we book the celebrant, the flowers and the hair and make-up, and you turn up.
Have us arrange itHair and make-up
The question to ask any artist here is not whether they are good. It is whether they will start at four in the morning. A sunrise ceremony on a mountain means a chair in the dark, and plenty of artists will not do it.
| Artist | What they do | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Escova Your Style | Hair and make-up | Combined hair and make-up for weddings, elopements and pre-wedding shoots — and they advertise early-morning availability, which is the whole ball game for an alpine sunrise. Trades as ESCOVA Your Style now, not “Your Style”. |
| Kirsty Penetito | Make-up only | Bridal, editorial and event make-up; a self-described luxury specialist. Make-up only, so pair her with a hair stylist. Enquiry form only, no phone published. |
Budget $500–1,000 for hair and make-up together. If you are booking two people rather than one, say so at the enquiry — it changes the timing more than it changes the price.
Cake, and the small things

| Supplier | Where | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Bakers Lane | Grant Rd, Queenstown Central | All baked in house, with a dedicated celebration cake range plus catering boxes. Physical shop and online ordering. Ask about their smallest cake — a full tier is a lot for two people. |
| The Church Cellar Door & Cafe | Gibbston Highway | An 1894 church with a cellar door and cafe attached, open 11–5 daily. An active events venue, though they publish no wedding packages — enquire directly. 03 441 3315 |
Questions people actually ask
In what order should I book all this?
Celebrant first. They are the only supplier you legally cannot do without, the good ones book out furthest ahead, and an experienced local celebrant will tell you whether your plan is realistic before you have spent anything.
Then the venue or location, then hair and make-up, then gown and suit hire, then flowers and cake — those last two need the least lead time and are the easiest to change.
One exception: if a helicopter is involved, book the charter early and build everything else around it. See our helicopter landing guide.
We arrive two days before. Is that enough?
For most things, yes — if you have booked ahead. Queenstown is well practised at this. Suit hire is designed for it: you send measurements from home, pay a deposit, and fit on arrival. Flowers need 48 hours. Steaming a travelled dress takes an afternoon.
What two days is not enough for: choosing a hire gown from a rack of one-offs, any alteration beyond an emergency, and anything made to measure, which needs the better part of a year.
The one to watch is opening hours. Most of these businesses are weekday operations. A Friday-afternoon arrival before a Saturday wedding leaves you almost no trading time, and that catches out more couples than anything else on this page.
Do we need a marriage licence, and how long does it take?
Yes. You apply to the Registrar of Marriages, and the licence takes at least three working days to issue. It is valid for three months and it is valid anywhere in New Zealand, so you can apply before you know exactly which mountain you want.
There is no residency requirement and no waiting period for overseas couples, which is a large part of why New Zealand is easy to elope in. Your celebrant will walk you through it — it is one of the things you are paying them for.
What should all this cost, roughly?
For two people, using the published figures on this page: celebrant $500–1,000, flowers $320–385, hair and make-up $500–1,000, dress hire $650, suit hire $299. A helicopter with one landing starts around $2,500.
That is the supplier side only — it does not include your photographer, your accommodation, or a meal afterwards.
Is this list paid for?
No. Nobody on this page has paid to be here and we take no commission on anything. It is a working list, checked in September 2026, of people whose websites load and whose phones are published.
That is a lower bar than it sounds. A surprising number of suppliers in this district have no reachable contact details at all, and those have been left off rather than listed with a shrug.
Want our Queenstown price list?
Wedding days, the three all-inclusive elopement tiers, the helicopter add-on and everything you can bolt on — with real numbers, not “from” prices. We will show it to you straight away and email you the link so it is easy to find again.
We are Auckland-based and travel south regularly for elopements, small weddings and pre-wedding shoots. If you would like a hand putting the pieces together — or just want to know whether your idea is possible — get in touch. If it is just the two of you, our Queenstown elopement packages put the whole day together — celebrant, flowers, hair and make-up, the lot.
Supplier details checked September 2026. Prices are what each business published at that time and will change — always confirm directly.
